| Description | Teduglutide is a long-acting GLP-2 receptor agonist. It resists degradation by endogenous DPP-4 enzyme via site mutation (Ala²→Gly), with a much longer duration of action than native GLP-2. By specifically binding to GLP-2 receptors on intestinal epithelial cells, it promotes intestinal crypt cell proliferation, inhibits epithelial cell apoptosis, increases intestinal mucosal villus height and crypt depth, enhances intestinal mucosal barrier function, while improving intestinal blood flow and promoting nutrient absorption. Clinically, it is used for the treatment of short bowel syndrome to reduce patients' dependence on parenteral nutrition.
