| Description | LF11 (CAS 832729-13-2, MCE/InvivoChem/Cayman) is a synthetic antimicrobial peptide based on the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-binding region of human lactoferrin, with the sequence FQWQRNIRKVR-NH2, an 11-residue cationic peptide with C-terminal amidation. Molecular formula C69H112N26O14, molecular weight 1529.79 Da. LF11 corresponds to the core LPS-binding motif in the N-terminal lactoferricin (lactoferricin H) region of human lactoferrin, rich in arginine and lysine (net charge +5), containing two tryptophan residues, and is amphipathic. LF11 binds with high affinity to the lipid A region of Gram-negative bacterial outer membrane LPS, neutralizing endotoxin activity and inhibiting LPS-induced release of inflammatory factors; it also exerts direct antibacterial activity by disrupting bacterial membrane integrity, with activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. LF11 is an important scaffold for developing endotoxin neutralizers and novel antibacterial agents; its N-terminal acylated analogs (such as Lauryl-LF11) can significantly enhance antibacterial and endotoxin-neutralizing activities. |

| PEP-LF11 | Lactoferrin-derived LF11 peptide with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and microbiota-regulating effects | LF11 is a cationic antimicrobial undecapeptide derived from human lactoferrin, retaining the core antimicrobial domain of native lactoferrin. It selectively disrupts pathogenic cell membranes, inhibits colonization of common skin pathogens, regulates skin microbiota balance, suppresses inflammatory cytokine release and promotes epidermal barrier repair. With low cytotoxicity and good biocompatibility, it is suitable for skin care, oral care and wound repair product development. | Antimicrobial peptide research, skin barrier repair, skin microbiota regulation, wound care, anti-inflammatory research | Bacterial membrane permeability; epidermal barrier repair pathway; inflammatory factor release pathway |
