Description Fibronectin Adhesion-promoting Peptide (CAS: 125720-21-0, Heparin Binding Peptide) is derived from the C-terminal heparin-binding domain of human fibronectin, sequence Trp-Gln-Pro-Pro-Arg-Ala-Arg-Ile, molecular formula C47H74N16O10, MW 1023.19 Da. It directly promotes endothelial-cell adhesion, spreading, and migration by interacting with cell-surface heparin-binding sites, and promotes assembly of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) spheroids into larger aggregates. It is an active peptide for studying fibronectin heparin-binding function, vascularized tissue engineering, and cell-scaffold construction; the TFA salt improves solubility and stability.
Structure type Linear 8-mer (fibronectin C-terminal heparin-binding domain, TFA salt)
Solubility Readily soluble in water
Storage Powder -20C, dry, protected from light

Physicochemical Solubility & Storage Parameters

Product Code Appearance Long-term Storage Short-term Storage Solution Stability Solid Powder Stability
PEP-FAPTFA-01 White to off-white powder (TFA salt is hygroscopic) Store at -20°C, sealed, desiccated, protected from light (~2 years). Aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw. Contains Trp-protect from light. The TFA salt is hygroscopic: aliquot and store under vacuum/argon in a desiccator. 2–8°C for up to ~1 month; working aliquots at -20°C; stable for shipping at ambient. Cationic small peptide; moderate-to-good water solubility (aqueous buffers ~1–3 mg/mL; the TFA salt aids dissolution). Hydrophobic Trp/Pro/Ile residues may cause slight turbidity at high concentration or high ionic strength-use a little DMSO (≤10%) or sonication. Protect from light (Trp). No Cys (no disulfide), no Met (no oxidation). The TFA lyophilate is hygroscopic-weigh quickly, reseal immediately, avoid repeated freeze-thaw. solid stable for ~2 years at -20°C, sealed, desiccated and protected from light. The TFA salt is hygroscopic-keep the desiccator sealed and the weighing environment dry.

Functional Description

Product Code Frontend Short Summary Detailed Biological Function Description Applicable Research Areas (comma-separated) Targets / Pathways
PEP-FAPTFA-01 The TFA salt of the fibronectin C-terminal heparin-binding octapeptide WQPPRARI, which promotes cell adhesion and focal-adhesion formation through heparin/heparan-sulfate pathways; widely used for biomaterial surface modification and tissue engineering. This is the trifluoroacetate of the octapeptide WQPPRARI (Fibronectin Adhesion-promoting Peptide, FAP) derived from the C-terminal heparin-binding domain (HepII/33-kDa) of human fibronectin. This sequence is one of the fibronectin sites that binds heparin/heparan-sulfate proteoglycans (e.g., syndecans); when coupled to carriers such as ovalbumin it effectively supports cell attachment, and both the coupled and free peptides are potent inducers of focal-adhesion formation, activating intracellular FAK signaling and driving actin stress-fiber assembly. Unlike the classical RGD sequence (which signals through integrins α5β1/αvβ3), FAP promotes cell anchorage and spreading mainly through the heparin-binding site, often used together with RGD to scaffold materials for cell culture, tissue engineering (bone/cartilage/skin repair) and regenerative-medicine research. Supplied as the TFA salt: protect from light (Trp); the TFA salt is hygroscopic-weigh quickly and store dry/sealed; for cell culture or in-vivo work, residual TFA may affect cell viability-dialyze into acetate or hydrochloride if needed. Cell adhesion, extracellular matrix, tissue engineering, biomaterial surface modification, wound healing, regenerative medicine, heparin binding, stem cell culture Heparin/heparan-sulfate proteoglycans (syndecans); fibronectin C-terminal heparin-binding domain (HepII); FAK focal-adhesion signaling
