Description RGD peptide (GRGDNP) is a hexapeptide containing the RGD motif, sequence Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Asn-Pro, molecular formula C₂₃H₃₈N₁₀O₁₀, MW 614.62 Da. Via the RGD motif, the peptide binds integrin receptors and plays an important role in cell adhesion, migration, growth, and differentiation; it is used in integrin-mediated cell-behavior and surface-functionalization research.
Structure type Linear 6-mer (GRGDNP, RGD-motif-containing)
Solubility Readily soluble in water, PBS
Storage Powder -20°C, dry, protected from light

Product Code Appearance Long-term Storage Short-term Storage Solution Stability Solid Powder Stability
PEP-GRGDNP-01 White to off-white powder (free base; less hygroscopic than the TFA salt) Store at -20°C, sealed, desiccated, protected from light (~2 years). Aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw. No Met/Trp/Cys-low oxidation and photolysis risk. The free base has no TFA counterion and is the least irritating form, suitable for salt-sensitive cell and in vivo studies. Weigh quickly and keep sealed over desiccant after opening. 2–8°C for up to ~1 month; working aliquots at -20°C; stable for short-term shipping at ambient. Good water solubility (≥5–10 mg/mL in water or neutral PBS); polar side chains (Asp/Asn) ensure aqueous dispersion without DMSO. Prepare working solutions fresh; stable at 4°C for 1–2 days; avoid repeated freeze-thaw. solid stable for ~2 years at -20°C, sealed and desiccated. The free base is less hygroscopic than the TFA salt, but keep the desiccator sealed.

Functional Description

Product Code Frontend Short Summary Detailed Biological Function Description Applicable Research Areas (comma-separated) Targets / Pathways
PEP-GRGDNP-01 GRGDNP is a fibronectin-derived 6-aa RGD analog (Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Asn-Pro) that competitively blocks RGD-recognizing integrins (notably α5β1) and inhibits cell–extracellular-matrix adhesion, widely used in cell adhesion, migration, apoptosis and angiogenesis studies. GRGDNP is a 6-residue analog of the canonical RGD cell-adhesion motif from fibronectin, sequence Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Asn-Pro, in which the RGD tripeptide core is followed by an Asn-Pro dipeptide; position 5 is Asn instead of the Ser present in the natural GRGDSP sequence. GRGDNP retains recognition by RGD-dependent integrins and competitively inhibits the binding of integrins-predominantly α5β1, and also αvβ3 and αvβ5-to extracellular-matrix ligands such as fibronectin and vitronectin, thereby dose-dependently blocking cell adhesion, spreading and focal-adhesion formation on ECM-coated surfaces. In vitro it perturbs stress-fiber assembly, suppresses cell migration and proliferation, and, by disengaging integrin–ECM survival signaling (the anoikis pathway), promotes conformational activation and autoprocessing of pro-caspase-3, leading to tumor-cell apoptosis. Owing to its small size, good water solubility and lack of cytotoxic carriers, GRGDNP is routinely used as: (1) a positive-control RGD integrin ligand (against inactive mutants such as GRGESP); (2) a tool for cell-adhesion inhibition assays; (3) studies of tumor anoikis and angiogenesis; (4) competitive validation of RGD-functionalized biomaterials; and (5) integrin affinity/selectivity competition-binding experiments. The free-base form contains no TFA counterion and is suitable for salt-sensitive primary cells, co-cultures and in vivo injection.
