Description RGD peptide (GRGDNP) (TFA) is the TFA salt of the RGD-motif-containing hexapeptide, sequence Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Asn-Pro. Free base C₂₃H₃₈N₁₀O₁₀, MW 614.62 Da; TFA salt C₂₅H₃₉F₃N₁₀O₁₂, MW 728.63 Da. Via the RGD motif, GRGDNP binds integrin receptors and plays an important role in cell adhesion, migration, growth, and differentiation; the TFA form improves aqueous solubility for integrin-mediated cell-behavior research.
Structure type Linear 6-mer (GRGDNP, TFA salt)
Solubility Readily soluble in water, PBS
Storage Powder -20°C, dry, protected from light

Physicochemical Solubility & Storage Parameters

Product Code Appearance Long-term Storage Short-term Storage Solution Stability Solid Powder Stability
PEP-GRGDNP-TFA-01 White to off-white powder (TFA salt; more hygroscopic than the free base) Store at -20°C, sealed, desiccated, protected from light (~2 years). Aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw. The TFA salt is hygroscopic-after opening, equilibrate in a desiccator and weigh quickly in a dry environment; avoid repeated air exposure. 2–8°C, desiccated, for up to ~1 month; working aliquots at -20°C. Excellent water solubility (the TFA salt dissolves very readily in water/PBS, ≥10 mg/mL); the TFA counterion improves -cake reconstitution. Prepare fresh; stable at 4°C for 1–2 days. Note: at high concentrations TFA is mildly cytotoxic-dialyze or buffer-exchange before sensitive cell assays. solid stable for ~2 years at -20°C, sealed and desiccated. The TFA salt is hygroscopic and must be kept sealed over desiccant; deliquescence leads to aggregation and activity loss.

Functional Description

Product Code Frontend Short Summary Detailed Biological Function Description Applicable Research Areas (comma-separated) Targets / Pathways
PEP-GRGDNP-TFA-01 The TFA-counterion form of GRGDNP (Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Asn-Pro), identical in sequence and biology to the free base: a competitive ligand for RGD-dependent integrins (α5β1 etc.) that blocks cell–ECM adhesion and triggers anoikis; the TFA salt reconstitutes rapidly at high concentration for adhesion/migration assays. This is the trifluoroacetate (TFA) salt of the 6-aa peptide GRGDNP (Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Asn-Pro); the peptide sequence, RGD tripeptide core and biological activity are identical to the free base. GRGDNP TFA competitively binds RGD-recognizing integrins (predominantly α5β1, and also αvβ3 and αvβ5), blocking their interaction with ECM ligands such as fibronectin and vitronectin and dose-dependently inhibiting cell adhesion, spreading and focal-adhesion formation. In vitro it perturbs stress-fiber assembly, suppresses cell migration and proliferation, and, by disengaging integrin–ECM survival signaling (the anoikis pathway), promotes conformational activation and autoprocessing of pro-caspase-3, inducing tumor-cell apoptosis. The TFA salt is the customary output of RP-HPLC purification and lyophilization: the cake reconstitutes almost instantly and the aqueous solubility is high (≥10 mg/mL), making it convenient for adhesion-inhibition and integrin competition assays that require fresh high-concentration stock. Note that TFA is a strong-acid counterion and is mildly irritating to primary cells, sensitive cell lines and in vivo injection at high doses; for salt-sensitive work choose the free base (PEP-GRGDNP-01) or exchange TFA to acetate/HCl by dialysis, SPE or HPLC before use. Cell adhesion & migration, integrin biology, tumor anoikis, angiogenesis, RP-HPLC-purified peptide standards, ECM-cell interactions Integrin α5β1 (primary); integrin αvβ3, αvβ5; pro-caspase-3 apoptotic pathway; RGD-binding sites of fibronectin/vitronectin
