Description RGDSPASSKP (CAS: 91575-25-6) is a fibronectin decapeptide containing the RGDS core, sequence Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser-Pro-Ala-Ser-Ser-Lys-Pro, molecular formula C40H68N14O16, MW 1001.05 Da. It extends the C-terminal sequence beyond the RGD core and is used to study integrin-recognition specificity and conformational effects of longer fibronectin cell-binding fragments, as well as RGD-mediated cell adhesion, spreading, migration, and platelet-aggregation inhibition, a standard tool peptide for integrin-ECM interaction research.
Structure type Linear 10-mer (RGDS-core-containing fibronectin extended sequence)
Solubility Readily soluble in water, PBS buffer
Storage Powder -20C, dry, protected from light

Functional Description

Product Code Frontend Short Summary Detailed Biological Function Description Applicable Research Areas (comma-separated) Targets / Pathways
PEP-RGDSP-01 A fibronectin-derived RGD decapeptide integrin ligand containing the canonical RGD core motif. Competitively inhibits integrin-fibronectin binding and is widely used in cell adhesion, migration, angiogenesis, and integrin-targeted drug research. This is a decapeptide fragment derived from the central cell-binding domain (CCBD, FN-III9-10) of fibronectin, retaining the native RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) integrin recognition core motif. RGD is the most classic integrin-binding site found in extracellular matrix proteins. This peptide competitively binds RGD-dependent integrins including αvβ3, αvβ5, α5β1, and αIIbβ3, blocking cell adhesion to fibronectin, vitronectin, and fibrinogen. In cancer research, RGD peptides competitively inhibit tumor cell adhesion and migration, and can be conjugated as targeting ligands to drugs or nanoparticles for tumor neovasculature imaging and delivery. In tissue engineering, immobilized RGD peptides promote cell attachment and proliferation. As a short linear peptide with limited membrane permeability but good water solubility, it is suitable for integrin receptor binding assays, cell adhesion inhibition assays, and as an RGD positive control peptide. Cell adhesion, integrin biology, tumor angiogenesis, tissue engineering, wound healing, drug delivery, regenerative medicine, biomaterial surface modification αvβ3, αvβ5, α5β1, αIIbβ3 and other RGD-dependent integrins; fibronectin-integrin adhesion interface; cell migration and FAK signaling pathway
